Kacey Musgraves is flying Golden Hour all over the country. Her latest stop was The Late Late Show With James Corden in Los Angeles, where she dolled up in powder-blue jumpsuit to throw it back for "Velvet Elvis" on May 17.

Corden's live audience seemed to dig the throwback song that has Musgraves singing about all she's ever wanted: a classic love that goes on until the end of time. Accompanied by light percussion and guitar accompaniment, her whispered vocals are at the forefront of the song and this performance.

"I don't really care 'bout the Mona Lisa / I need a Graceland kind of man who's always on my mind / I wanna show you off every evening / Go out with you in powder blue and tease my hair up high," she sings softly.

Musgraves wrote "Velvet Elvis" with Natalie Hemby and Luke Dick. It's one of three songs she wrote with Hemby that are featured on Golden Hour, including "Butterflies" and "Rainbow," which she says is her message of hope to the listener. "Rainbow" was the final song Musgraves’ grandmother heard that she wrote and one that she loved so dearly, it was performed at her funeral.

"For a long time, that was a really hard one to hear, but I thought that it fit really nicely on the record," Musgraves says. “It turned into a song as a little message to myself, and then ended up being a song for anybody with any kind of weight on their shoulders."
