Josh Thompson Returns to The District in Sioux Falls

There are country stars. Then, there are country stars that could stop by for dinner tonight and you might think they've lived down the street.

Josh Thompson feels like home to me. He's bringing his home grown sound to The District in Sioux Falls for a concert Thursday, December 11th.

A personal note on 'The District.' They have been a game changer to Sioux Falls music scene. Different genres of music have been featured. They're a easy find behind the Sioux Empire Mall and we love the fact they bring acts like Josh Thompson in.

You might remember a few years ago, I took that trip around the inside border of the State of South Dakota. When I couldn't pick up radio stations, (and that was quite a bit) I had Thompsons album along, 'Way Out Here.'  The song still stands the hair on the back of my neck up every time I hear it. If you pile a list of my 10 favorite songs I've played on Kickin' Country in the past 17 years, this would make the top 10.

You might remember Thompson from his appearance at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds a few years ago. One of the best I've ever seen. The guy can play, and his music features 'stories the common folk can relate to.'

I like this guy a lot. I can't wait to see the show.
