Jo Dee Messina Postpones Tour Dates Due To Sick Mother

Country Star Jo Dee Messina won't be touring Canada this summer after all. According to the Associated Press, Messina is pushing the dates back to the fall to stay close to her Mom, who recently had open-heart surgery.

(AP) - Jo Dee Messina is postponing her Canadian tour dates to be with her sick mother.

Messina posts on her Web site her mother can be better one day and take two steps back the next day. Her mother had open-heart surgery last month.

Messina says even if her mother got better tomorrow, she would still need to do rehab. She says she doesn't feel comfortable being far away on tour in Canada because she couldn't get back quickly. The original dates were later this month, but they have been moved to October.

Messina says when she goes to Canada in October, she will be bringing the new album with her.
