Some big names from the world of sports are heading to Sioux Falls this summer for the annual Hy Vee/Sanford Legends for kids event.

NFL Hall of Famer and four-time Super Bowl quarterback Jim Kelly will headlining the football clinic.

South Dakota native Chad Greenway of the Minnesota Vikings, an All-Pro linebacker, will also be part of this year's event.

They will be joined by New York Giants defensive back Prince Amukamara, a former Nebraska Cornhusker.  The football clinic is June 14th at Augustana's Kirkeby-Over Stadium.

The baseball clinic will be headed by two-time Cy Young Award winner Bret Saberhagen.  The clinic is June 14th at the Sanford Fieldhouse.

Former member of the Los Angeles Lakers 'Showtime' teams, and former WNBA and college head coach Michael Cooper will be featured at the basketball clinic, June 15th at Washington High School.

Other clinics include wrestling, with MMA fighter Ryan Bader, soccer, volleyball, and tennis.

The Legends Banquet is June 13th at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall.

This is the ninth annual event, and Tyler Schulte from Sanford expects this year's Legends will push the total fund raising effort past the $1 million mark.

Schulte also says it's important to not just get big names for this event, but also to get athletes that can work with kids.

Hy Vee will once again sponsor a kids triathlon this year, with age groups 6 to 8, 9 to 11, and 12 to 15.  The event will be June 15th.  Kristi Masterson from Hy Vee talks with Hy Vee's continued involvement with the Legends and  about this year's triathlon.
