Even though it's mid October, the planning for JazzFest 2018 has already begun.

The Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society announced Monday (October 16) that JazzFest held every July in Yankton Trail Park will once again be rolled back to just two days starting next year.

KDLT News is reporting that JazzFest 2018 will run Friday and Saturday (July 20 and 21). The JazzFest event expanded to a 3 day format back in 2010.

The report says that scaling the event back will afford organizers the opportunity to better structure the volunteer efforts while allowing the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society to concentrate on bringing in the strongest lineup of entertainment possible over the two days.

JazzFest had over 750 people step forward to volunteer during 2017.

The festival will be celebrating its 27th year in Sioux Falls during 2018.
