Jared & the Mill are set to release a new EP titled Orme Dugas on Friday (Sept. 9), and Taste of Country readers are getting to hear it before it's even available to purchase.

The band consists of five Phoenix natives who got together in the summer of 2011 just to play music with some friends. Since then, Jared Kolesar, Michael Carter, Larry Gast III, Chuck Morriss III and Josh Morin have shared the stage with a wide variety of acts including the Zac Brown Band, Barry Gibb, Boy & Bear, the War on Drugs, the Wildfeathers, Cake, Flogging Molly, the Killers and Allen Stone.

The western indie rockers recently debuted their new single, "Keep Me Going," which is the lead single from their EP. Orme Dugas takes its title from a highway exit in the band’s home state. Much of the music was inspired by their first-hand experiences of the homesickness of touring musicians, and the band enlisted Grammy Award-winning producer Ryan Hewitt (Tom Petty, Dixie Chicks, the Avett Brothers) to helm the project, which they recorded live as much as possible to capture the energy of the group's celebrated live shows.

"This collection of songs is a still of who we are as a band at this moment in time," Kolesar says. "We are a group of fellas raised in the Southwest and our music on this record reflects that. We hope you dig the tunes and we hope you come out and see us on the road, we love you."

The quintet are undertaking a massive U.S. headline tour of their own in support of Orme Dugas. Listen to an exclusive stream below, and scroll down to see the band's entire upcoming tour schedule.

Orme Dugas is available for pre-order at iTunes.
