What better way for Jake Owen to wrap his first headlining tour than to raise $125,000 for a good cause? The country music superstar capped his 2012 CMT on Tour: The Summer Never Ends trek last week (Dec. 15) with a hometown concert in Vero Beach, Fla., raising a rather large chunk of change with the help of his loyal fans.

"A huge thank you to everyone in Vero Beach Saturday night for an awesome show and helping us raise money for such a great cause," says the 'Anywhere With You' singer (quote via Sweet Talk PR). "I can’t think of a better way to end the CMT Tour and this amazing year!"

6,200 fans turned out for the event, which benefited St. Jude Children's Hospital and other youth organizations in Indian River County, Fla,, including Autism Speaks and the Mardy Fish Foundation. Owen's desire to help the famous non-profit organization is no doubt fueled by the recent birth of his first child, Olive Pearl Owen.

“I’ve done a lot of cool things in my life. But that, by far, was the coolest thing ever,” Owen says of his hands-on involvement in the delivery room. “There’s nothing that will ever top that. I don’t understand what could be better than that.”

"A dad to a girl is a role model, and it’s someone that she can count on and stand behind," Owen shares of his new role as a devoted dad. "It’s my dying goal to make sure that my daughter knows that, that I’m here for her and for no matter what."

Owen will take a hiatus from to road through the holiday season to spend some much needed downtime with his new family, but will return to his touring duties in February as part of Jason Aldean's 2013 Night Train tour.
