Jackie Lee returns with a big vocal showcase in "Getting Over You," his new single on Broken Bow Records. The country newcomer sings of love lost and the agony of moving on.

It's a convincing performance, one that conjures memories of an old flame you worked hard to bury. Lee's tormented power ballad twists with the songs hook: "But if you think getting over me was hard try getting over you," he sings to close each chorus.

There's something satisfyingly selfish about the lyrics. The self pity that comes with heartache is an undeniably selfish thing, and that's captured in a new way during "Getting Over You," a song from an upcoming project. Brent Anderson and Paul DiGiovanni helped the native Tennessean write these lyrics, his finest and deepest offering to radio yet.

Did You Know?: "Getting Over You" was co-written by Boys Like Girls guitarist Paul DiGiovanni.

Jackie Lee's "Getting Over You" Lyrics:

"Bet you had a couple long nights / Sleeping alone / I bet even on a short drive / If our song came on / You pull over on the shoulder, and cry / Thinking about how we used to be / Girl I bet you had a hard time getting over me."

Chorus:
"Ooo, that might be true / But if you think getting over me was hard try getting over you / I don't wanna make light of what you're going through / But if you think getting over me was hard try getting over you / Try getting, try getting, try getting over you."

"Bet you never taste my kiss / In a rum and Coke / Bet you never spent all night, at that ol' bar / Prayin', waitin' hopin' / That I might walk into your arms again like we never said goodbye / Make the cab take the long way by my place to see if someone's parked outside."

"Ooo, even if you do / If you think getting over me was hard try getting over you / I don't wanna make light of what you're going through / But if you think getting over me was hard try getting over you / Try getting, try getting, try getting over you."

"You're moving on and I can barely move / Yeah you got off easy baby, try getting over you."
