The Sioux Empire Kennel Club is hosting their annual All-Breed Dog Show this weekend in the Expo building at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Friday, October 27 through Sunday, October 29, from 8 AM to 6 PM each day you can stop in and watch owners put their pups through their paces.

This great event is fun for the whole family and absolutely free! You can talk to breeders, owners and exhibitors and learn about a wide variety of dog breeds. The Obedience and Rally trials will be fascinating to watch and you might even pick up a tip or two on how to have a better behaved pooch at home.

One of the most fun events will be the Junior Showmanship Competition where young dog handlers compete against each other. The National Owner-Handled competition determines who may be attending the AKC (American Kennel Club) National Championships taking place in Orlando, Florida in December.

The event with the cutest entries will be the Puppy Match on Friday afternoon right around 4 PM. You can enter your puppy, by signing up and paying an $8 fee at the Sioux Empire Kennel Club's information booth in the Expo building from 10 AM to 3:30 PM that day.

A Halloween costume contest is also open to the public on Saturday, October 28, again at about 4 PM. So get your costume and your dog's costume together and compete for prizes. Your dog must be on a leash and have all up-to-date vaccinations. In fact, dogs that are not entered in any of the competitions are not allowed at the show.
