What's the best sports month in a year?

It could be January because of the BCS National Championship, and the NFL playoffs? Possibly February because of the Super Bowl or March because of March Madness? How about April because of Opening Day and the Masters? Maybe it's September because of the start of the NFL season, or October because of the World Series?

All of those months are solid, but the one month that may top them all, and may be the most underrated sports month, is June.

Why?

Well, the NBA crowns a champion, the NHL gives away the Stanley Cup and golf has the U.S. Open. All of which have plenty of history.

The NBA Finals is where "amazing" happens. The NBA first crowned a champion in 1946-1947, and have seen the best take home basketball's most coveted championship trophy. Bill Russell won 11 rings with the Boston Celtics. Kareem Abdul-Jabber, Bob Cousy, Michael Jordan, and Scottie Pippen all won six. Magic Johnson, and Kobe Bryant have won five titles. Tim Duncan and Shaquille O'Neal have won four. Larry Bird has won three. Plus, the game's biggest superstar, LeBron James, is trying to win his second consecutive ring. The Finals have provided great players with great moments.

Meanwhile, the Stanley Cup is named after Lord Stanley and will be handed out to the Chicago Blackhawks, or Boston Bruins.
The Stanley Cup is a trophy that has been around since 1926. This year, it will be given to the Blackhawks or Bruins, which are two of the "Original Six," teams that began play in 1942.

Lastly, the U.S. Open has some pretty incredible history, too. The U.S. Open is golf's second major, and has been around since 1895 when the tournament began on a nine-hole course at the Newport Golf and Country Club in Rhode Island.

All three championship events have set themselves apart as some of the best, and most compelling events in American sports.

To say the least, the three championship events haven't disappointed in 2013, either.

First, in the NBA Finals, James is chasing a second straight title, and Duncan is chasing his fifth ring after he first won a ring in 1999.

The Finals have seen fantastic moments that have made basketball fans jump out of their seats, and yell at their televisions. The first two games started off with a bang as Tony Parker beat the shot clock in Game One with a off balance jumper, and LeBron James made "the block," in Game Two. In Game Three, role players Danny Green, and Mike Neal help the San Antonio Spurs take a 2-1 lead by knocking down a NBA Finals record 16 three-pointers. In Game Four, the Heat's "Big Three," combined for 75 points in a 109-93 route of the Spurs. Then, in Game Five, the Spurs came back and took a 3-2 lead behind a 114-104 route of the Heat.

The 2013 NBA Finals have been filled with plenty of superstar moments, but role players Green, Neal, and Mike Miller have stole the stage.

Second, the Stanley Cup began with the fifth longest game in the Cup's history with two of the game's oldest teams. The Blackhawks defeated the Bruins in three overtimes, 4-3. In Game Two, the Bruins evened the series at 1 with a 2-1 victory in overtime. Game Three is tonight.

Lastly, the U.S. Open ended on Sunday and was played under tough conditions at Merian as Justin Rose won the 72-hole tournament with a score of +1. Phil Mickleson held the 54-hole lead, but finished second  at the U.S. Open for the sixth time.

Now, you make the call. Is June the most underrated sports month?
