With harvest underway in South Dakota we hear yet another story of why farming is actually one of the most dangerous jobs you can be associated with. According to WNAX news,

A rural Yankton County man has died in a grain bin accident. The Yankton County Sheriff's Office says emergency units were called to a farm northwest of Mayfield Tuesday morning. 22 year old Aaron Engen of rural Irene, SD had entered a corn bin to assist in loading the corn into a truck. A large amount of corn shifted covering Engen. Immediate attempts to free him failed. First responders recovered Engens body after cutting the bin open and removing most of the grain. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Engen family as we once again reminded how dangerous working in agriculture can be.
