  • In the middle ages, men and women would draw names from a bowl to see who their valentine would be.  They would then wear the name of their sleeve for one week.  This is where we got the phrase “To wear your heart on your sleeve.”

  • Cupid, a popular Valentine’s Day image, is the son of Venus.
