Over 500 strong showed up at Spencer Park in Sioux Falls for the Great Strides Walk. As we walked I read the inspirational apparel people were rocking representing their teams. I spent the majority of the 3 miles behind a dad with his daughter perched on his shoulders. His shirt read: "And though she be but little, she is fierce."

You can't size someone up based on the physical, that's for sure. Until we get a chance to hear their story, and learn what they've faced we have to run our judgments based on outward appearances, which fall way too short.

Posted on signs placed on the sides of the path throughout the walk were messages from people with CF and their family members.

"I"m thankful I have CF, because without it I wouldn't be as close to God as I am. So my outlook on life is, live life to the fullest and dream big." - Morgan

When it came time to choose a team to walk for I signed up for two. I'm not sure it matters what walk we choose as long as we choose to walk. It's why I think walks are the most popular form of fundraising events.

It's what we're all looking for in this journey of life - to know that no matter what we're walking through we are not walking it alone.

"What I want for my son is a life without limitations on the years he has to live, the adventures he chooses to have, or the dreams he wishes to follow." - Jen Gill, CF Mom
