The funeral service for Charlie Dick, the widower of country star Patsy Cline, will be Thursday November 12 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Joelton, Tennessee. Dick died in his sleep on Sunday at his home.

Dick, 81, worked to keep his wife’s legacy alive after her death in a plane crash in 1963. A 1985 film, “Sweet Dreams,” the title of one of her most famous songs, depicted Cline’s career as well as the couple’s much talked about relationship. When the movie was released, Dick maintained it was good but was mostly fiction.

Cline, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, was known for songs including “Crazy” and “Walkin’ After Midnight” and “She’s Got You.” After her death, Dick continued working in the music industry in Nashville at Starday Records with entertainers including the late Red Sovine.
