How Bad Are the Minnesota Vikings in Prime Time?

Head coach Mike Zimmer said after the loss to the San Francisco 49ers that his team "was not ready for prime time yet." He might have a point.

If there is one thing that hasn't been on the Vikings schedule over the last couple of years it's been prime time games. They have received a Thursday night game each year since the inception of a full Thursday night schedule, but it's been uncommon for an appearance on Monday or Sunday night football.

There are a couple of different factors that keep the Vikings off the two main games of the weekend. One being that the franchise hasn't been that great since the Favre season in 2009. Also factor in being in a smaller market (sorry, they won't pick Minnesota over Dallas), and their lack of success in that spot, it's very easy to see why they aren't selected.
