An investigation was launched regarding a homicide at the Spring Centre Apartments in downtown Sioux Falls near the intersection of 13th and Spring on Monday (April 3).

Sioux Falls resident Alicia Rhae Jumping Eagle, 33, has been identified as the victim.

A person of interest, 43-year-old Irving Duane Jumping Eagle, is now being sought. He is described as a Native American male, 5' foot 9', 190 pounds with a shaved head.

According to Leutenant Michael Colwill it appears the suspect has left the Sioux Falls area.

"Irving was last seen at approximately 1:00 PM on April 3, 2017 at a gas station near Streeter, North Dakota. Irving asked to use a bathroom to clean up and had noticeable blood on his person," explained Colwill. "He was last seen driving a black 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix with SD license plates 1V8805."

Police have not revealed the timeline of the homicide, but were on the scene investigating on Monday April 3.
