When Home Free won NBC's a capella group competition The Sing-Off, one of their most memorable performances was a cover of the road-weary ballad “Colder Weather” by Zac Brown Band. Now they’ve put together a new and improved version of the tune for a newly expanded holiday album, and the video may just give you chills (no pun intended).

The song is already touching, but adding the sweet harmonies of this finely-tuned a capella group gives it a new kind of warmth and emotion. Home Free's "Colder Weather" video is a fairly simple one, showing the guys sitting around a fire, standing in a field or hanging at a coffee shop singing the tune, but the simplicity only highlights their talent.

“We have always been a fan of Zac Brown Band and this song,” shares Rob Lundquist, who takes the first verse on the song. “I loved the lyrics the minute I heard the original version and it allowed us to get really creative with the harmonies and craft a new blend with our voices. Ever since we performed it on The Sing-Off, we wanted to add it to an album and couldn’t think of a more fitting time!”

The extended holiday record is titled Full of (Even More) Cheer.

Home Free are currently on the road, having just kicked off their a Country Christmas Tour at a sold-out show in Green Bay. Dates for the Christmas shows run through Dec. 22, and the band picks back up again in January in the U.K.
