With shopping to begin on Thanksgiving Day, and continue much of the day and night on Black Friday, traffic on Sioux Falls’ major streets will become a nightmare. Shoppers and visitors to Sioux Falls can be expected to have long lines not only in the stores, but on the most traveled streets in the city. Those that live in Sioux Falls or visit the fine city frequently, are aware that streets such as Louise Avenue, 57th Street, Western Avenue, Minnesota Avenue and the ever-popular 41st Street will test your patience in more ways than one.
Being stuck in a line of traffic can make someone both angry and frustrated, unless you are stuck in traffic next to TJ Smith. TJ has a way of infecting all the drivers around him with his sweet smile, great personality and love of music, even though some drivers around him aren’t always the most receptive to his fun.
Even though TJ doesn’t live in Sioux Falls…or even South Dakota…here’s hoping that someone can learn from TJ’s positive attitude and maybe try singing to others around them while waiting for the lights to change at the corner of Louise Avenue and 41st Street.
A couple of warnings, however. Remember to be careful and please pay attention to where you are driving! An accident caused by careless driving is not what anyone needs, especially over the holiday season. But also remember, a little happiness can be contagious and maybe even change someone’s attitude about being stuck in traffic!
