Tuesday May 26 the Sioux Falls Helpline Center will be hosting a youth mental health first aid training programThe class will be held at the Helpline Center training room located at 1000 N. West Avenue in Sioux Falls.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an eight hour course that teaches adults a five step action plan to offer initial help to young people showing signs of mental illness. You'll be taught how to connect the person is crisis with the appropriate professional, peer, social or self help care group.

Anyone can take the course, but it's ideally designed for adults who work with young people ages 12 to 18. Teachers, coaches, faith leaders, social workers, and other caring adults are encouraged to attend.
