After the Thanksgiving holiday is done and you’re feeling guilty about all the hearty food you ate, one option to feel better is to get out and be active. What better way to do that, than for a good cause in your community?

Here’s an awesome activity to get in on: The Jingle Bell Run! This Sioux Falls event is put on by the Arthritis Foundation and is in its tenth year.

The annual 5k race series, comprised of both a run and walk, is full of family-friendly fun. As a way to get into the holiday spirit, they encourage everyone to dress up in holiday attire - for example a Santa outfit, ugly sweater or even bells on your shoes. Get creative!

It’s a fabulous way to get some exercise and to donate to a good cause: The Arthritis Foundation in South Dakota. Also, it can be a fun family or group activity! Not only is there a race, but there's food trucks, vendors and a DJ as well.

Arthritis is the #1 cause of disability and chances are it affects someone you know. It can hit people of all ages, races and ethnicities. Over 50 million Americans, including about 300,000 children, live with the disease. This includes one in four adults in South Dakota.

The Arthritis Foundation leads the fight against arthritis by fighting for a cure through research, science and advocacy. Their campaign, ‘Champion of Yes,’ encourages those with arthritis to say ‘yes’ to conquering every day challenges they may endure. They help people develop their own better living plan, using the group’s trusted resources and tools for better quality of life.
