The first time I met Hailey Steele, she was a fourth or fifth grader. She was waiting in line for Faith Hill Concert tickets at Lewis Drug (41st and Minnesota) with her family. I was there doing cut ins for the radio station. Her Dad said, she's a pretty good singer. I put her on the air there that day,and she was. Now, almost 20 years later, she's still working and grinding her way up the steps of Country Music.

I caught up with Hailey in a phone call earlier this week. She was on her way back to Nashville, with a recording session and several co-writes on her day planner for when she got back.

Hailey was excited to talk about getting back for Thanksgiving dinner near Madison, South Dakota, only to get a call from friend Shelly Fairchild. That phone call led Steele back to Nashville to The Grand Ole' Opry for a performance at the Ryman Auditorium.

The Ryman performance is just part of what Steele is up to. She also keeps busy with several co-writes per week where she meets and collaborates with fellow country music songwriters. Hailey says, it's fun and always interesting to bring your thoughts and ideas and meld them together with others.

Steele is currently on her Christmas tour and it's a great chance for you to get out to see her. She will perform at Jeschke Fine Arts Center December 15, 2017.

If you get a chance, put the day on your calendar and come check her out. Also, check out her latest single Wandering Heart.
