An automaker known for its high level of focus on safety has come up with a bright idea to improve bicycle safety. It's basically protection in a paint can, for those who ride their bikes at night.

Volvo has come up with a new invisible spray paint called Lifepaint that makes whatever you spray it on glow white when headlights hit it. According to developers, Lifepaint makes it very hard, if not impossible, for you to be missed.

Just think how nice that would be when peddling around Sioux Falls, whether on the city streets or the bike trails late at night. The more visible the better.

Even though it was originally intended to be used on bicycles, Lifepaint can  be used in all sorts of other ways. Applied to clothes, shoes and helmets, children's backpacks, even dog leases and collars - on any sort of material when you need to be seen.
