Ravaged roads and humongous holes have Swiss cheesed the city once again. At times driving around town this time of year feels like a video game trying to dodge these car crunching craters.

It often feels like your playing a video game trying to dodge the destruction. We decided to turn it into a game that pays $300 a week!

Every weekday morning between 5:30 am and 8:30 AM call Trav and Tammy at (605) 361-8000 tell them where the pot hole is that you hit and you are automatically qualified to win $300.

Every Friday morning at 7:37 AM we will give one of the weekly qualifiers $300 just for hitting one of the holes. Why $300?

We found some numbers on problems pothole's can cause to cars.

According to a new report by AAA the typical American motorist will shell out $300 repairing vehicle damage caused by potholes.

"In the last five years, 16 million drivers across the country have suffered pothole damage to their vehicles," said John Nielson, AAA's managing director of Automotive Engineering and Repair. "The problems range from tire punctures and bent wheels, to more expensive suspension damage."

The city of Sioux Falls is trying a new asphalt pothole patching material this year. Public Works are in the process of ordering more of the new material, called Aquaphalt, to continue with the pothole patching this time of year.

Aquaphalt is a more permanent asphalt and concrete repair material and works in both wet and cold conditions. Traditional hot-mix asphalt has a hard time doing the same job due to the moisture from melting snow and cold tempatures.

You can report the craters for repair by calling the Pothole Hotline (605) 367-8002 or do it online by clicking here.
