This coming weekend is the last weekend of cyclocross racing in the Sioux Falls area.

Fortunately, it's a big one.

Frosty CX in LeMars has grown into three-day festival for cycling enthusiasts, those who race, and those who don't. The festivities begin on Friday (Nov. 10) at 6 p.m. with racing under the lights and other "shenanigans." Then there are two full days of high-quality CX racing on Saturday and Sunday.

It's a hard but fun course that's different every year. The community embraces the racing and it always attracts a good field from Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. That has included in past years, former Masters World Champion Mark Savery of Omaha.

The race is organized and sponsored by Bike Central in LeMars, which is also home to the Central Junior Cycling development team.

CJC is producing a lot of fantastic junior racers, including Luke Feuerhelm, who this summer won the national championship in the Boys 13-14 division, so there's that.

I plan on entering the Masters race. I won't call what I'm doing these days racing but I'll be out there and plan to have a great time this weekend in LeMars. If you're around, stop by.

It's always important to remember that LeMars is the Ice Cream Capital of the World featuring the Blue Bunny soda shop and museum.

See you out there.
