Sioux Falls fire crews were busy putting out a house fire that broke out in the 400 block of North Covell Avenue late Friday afternoon.

KDLT News is reporting the fire started around 5:15 PM (December 1) when neighbors spotted smoke and flames coming from the North Covell Avenue home.

Fire crews arrived on scene a short time later and had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes. KDLT reports there was no one home at the time of the fire, and no firefighters sustained injuries as a result of the blaze.

Mark Justice, who lives in the neighborhood told KDLT News, “I heard the fire trucks when they came, so we came out to see what was going on. The house was fully involved in flames, or the back end of the house was fully involved in flames at the time.”

Authorities are now in the process of determining the cause of the fire.
