Well, we knew it was coming, no matter how hard we tried to hold onto the summer. Winter's advance team is ready to visit the Sioux Empire and get things ready for the big show.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for much of South Dakota, including the Sioux Falls area for Tuesday (October 9) from midnight until 9:00 AM.

A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

It's time to cover those plant on the deck, or bring them inside. Also, make a note to get the warm coats and hats out of the closet.
