In the realm of influence on the NBA, Sioux Falls still has a foothold as the new season starts. Six former Skyforce players begin the season in the Association.

Starting with the direct link, Miami which oversees all basketball operations for the ‘Force has two former players to start the season. Hassan Whiteside is considered a critical piece of the rotation played one game on assignment last season and was with the team for a portion of 2012-13 campaign. Tyler Johnson played his way onto the Miami roster after beginning the season in Sioux Falls one year ago.

Only one other Skyforce alum is staying with his team as Alexis Ajinca will once again come off the bench for New Orleans. Meanwhile former Heat assignee Shabazz Napier was traded to Orlando during the off season and will come off the bench for the Magic. Amir Johnson is now with the Boston Celtics and Donald Sloan plays in Brooklyn.

Two components of the 2009-10 squad were cut from NBA camps. Reggie Williams was one of the last cuts from San Antonio and Greg Stiemsma was waived by Orlando.

A good number of former players with NBA stock are overseas plying their trade as Larry Drew II (Monaco), Andre Dawkins (Italy), Zoran Dragic (Russia), Scotty Hopson (China), Andrew Goudelock (China) and Justin Hamilton (Spain) are displayed most prominently.
