There is a independant filmaker that it is in the process of creating a documentary about South Dakota rodeo legend Casey Tibbs.

The film is close to wrapping up according to reports and doesn't yet have a release date, but the film will be a 90 minute piece.

According to KCCR radio, the producer and filmmaker is Midland native Justin Koehler, who currently lives in Denver, CO.

Tibbs is from Fort Pierre, South Dakota and he is a rodeo icon.  He won a record six PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) saddle bronc-riding championships as well as two all around cowboy championships and one bareback-riding title.

His success came in the 1940's and 1950's and he ended up passing away in 1990.
