The South Dakota Specialty Producers Association and the Value Added Agricultural Development Center partner to present a specialty crop production seminar at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron, August 28, 2014 beginning with registration at 9 am.

The seminar will begin with a presentation on healthy soil management with techniques to improve production and quality. Attendees will then be educated on small scale agriculture drainage options to assist producers determine the costs and benefits to incorporating drainage into their own operations.

In the afternoon attendees will learn about specialty crop weed control utilizing non-chemical methods, and specialty crop tools and implements. The day will end with a round table discussion about specialty crop production, marketing, and other important topics.
