Fantasy Football in the Workplace – Time for Bosses to Forfeit

Fantasy football season is upon us, which means less work is probably getting done in the workplace. Don't believe me? Check out how big fantasy sports have become.

According to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, participation in fantasy football alone has soared 350% since 2005.

It's estimated that more than 50 million Americans will take part in a fantasy football league this year - 66% of which are employed fulltime.

Given all that, more and more business consultants are now changing their tune about how bosses should handle fantasy football in their place of work.

They're now actually advising bosses to encourage participation in a fantasy football league rather than trying to fight it.

"Allowing individuals to have some freedom to pursue personal activities during work hours is really important these days."

Again, according to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, the average player uses one hour per week updating their rosters, making trades and checking injury reports.
