The fall headcount at South Dakota's public universities shows a slight increase over the Fall 2013 total.

The Board of Regents says the total headcount on the six campuses is 36,532. That's an increase of 167 students, or just under one-half of one percent.

The number of full-time equivalent students was down by 45.2 students to a little over 26,736.5.

Regents Executive Director and CEO Jack Warner was pleased with the increase in headcount enrollment. He says the decrease in FTE students is consistent with other public-sector higher education schools.
