Additional Information

Guided by directors Dr. Paul Schilf and Mark Isackson, the Augustana Band and College & Community Band will come together for the last concert of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, in the Elmen Center. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and are free for students K-12 and those with an Augustana ID. Tickets are available at www.augietickets.com.

Attendees can look forward to the Band's selections from Thomas Knox' "American Pageant" and Warren Barker's "Sonata for Trumpet," featuring a solo by senior Collin Block (Sioux Falls). The Band will also perform crowd-favorite Mark Ford's "Subernic," a unique piece featuring three performers — Spencer Kruse '15 (Pipestone, Minn.), Andrew Paulson '14 (Jackson, Minn.), and Mariel Ridgway '14 (Brandon, S.D.) — on one marimba.

The College & Community Band will salute American music with Paul Yoder's tribute to Duke Ellington and a Gershwin Prelude Suite. Fans of "Avatar" will enjoy highlights from the soundtrack.

The evening will conclude with the announcement of two Outstanding Senior Awards before the bands join together for an audience sing-along to "From Sea to Shining Sea."
