The Minnesota Vikings had somewhat of a surprising year to some while internally they felt like a playoff appearance was feasible considering all the young talent their roster had.

Another example of that came on Thursday as Minnesota Vikings LB Eric Kendricks was named NFC North Rookie of the Year.

The ESPN NFC North writers voted Kendricks above Damarious Randall of the Green Bay Packers.

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs tied for third with Chicago Bears Jeremy Langford running back while Bears defensive tackle Eddie Goldman came in fifth.

When Gerald Hodges was traded to the San Fransisco 49ers, Kendricks role became an every down role and he thrived ever since.
