If you live in South Dakota and need to renew your driver license or take a driver test exam anytime soon, don't plan on doing it Friday, May 13 or Saturday, May 14, 2016.

The South Dakota state driver exam stations will be closed for those two days.

The state Driver Licensing program is closing up shop for a couple of days to do a little employee training.

Each year the state does its annual employee training session, according to Director Jane Schrank.

“We realize it is an inconvenience to close exam stations for any reason,” Schrank says. “We want to let the public know now so they can come to the exam station beforehand or renew online.”

People living in South Dakota have 180 days prior to the expiration date of their license to get it renewed.

If you're closing in on your driver license expiration date and want to obtain more information on what documents you need to bring along, the online renewal process or maybe take a look at a list of exam station locations click here.
