Donating Your Time is More Rewarding Than Donating Your Money
Hey, if you want to do something that will make you feel good about yourself today, donate some of your time, not your money.
Don't get me wrong, giving money to a charity is a wonderful thing to do. But donating some of your time is equally, if not more rewarding!
A new study showed that people who donate money to a charity ended up feeling good for up to a week, but if you volunteer a little of your time instead, that ooey-gooey feeling you get, can boost your mood for 24 days!
Heck you could even be walking on Cloud 9 for up to a month if you're between the ages of 18 and 24.
Bottom line is, donating some of your money or volunteering some of your time is a selfless act of kindness.
Of the 2,000 people that took part in the survey, over 75% said they volunteered or gave money to a charity within the last year. And a large number of people who did, reported being happier with their life in general. It gave them an overall sense of "inner calm."
Plus, think of all the humble-bragging you can do about it on Facebook.
"Humble" being the operative word.
