Ever had someone catch you in a grumpy mood and ask, "So, did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?"

New research suggests getting up on the wrong side of the bed really can put you in a bad mood.

A survey by mattress manufacturer Saatva found that something as simple as picking the wrong side, or whether you face towards or away from your partner, actually can make a big difference in how well you sleep

The study found most people tend to gravitate to the same side each night. Fifty-eight percent of men prefer the right side compared with 50 percent of women.

Bottomline - if you don't feel comfortable with which side you're on, you won't sleep as well, and that can easily make you cranky the next day.

Something to keep in mind the next time you stay in a hotel or visit the in-laws over the weekend!
