I have one of the happiest jobs in America! No, it is not on this list from CareerBliss but I know it is.

I get to work with the funniest person I've ever known. He's a best friend, a brother, a 21 year constant pain in my rear who never fails to surprise me, lift me up when I'm down and in general makes getting up at 4:00 AM every morning, bearable. But don't tell him I told you, he'll just get a fat head and annoy me.

Our bosses here in Sioux Falls are top-notch and best of all they put up with us! As a team we've gotten to meet, interview and spend time with some wonderful, talented people here in Sioux Falls and in other great spots in the U.S. We've been honored to work with numerous charitable organizations who are making a real difference in our community. We are blessed and we know it.

Now, with that out of the way, let's take a look at what CareerBliss says are the Top 5 Happiest Jobs in America:

  1. School Principal - Not an easy job, what with all the juggling of students, government standards, demanding parents, disciplinary issues and more, but overall this job is considered very rewarding.
  2. Executive Chef - Highly competitive, highly stressful, tons of responsibility, but again, very satisfying
  3. Loan Officer - Long hours would be in the con category, but in the pro category- you help people realize their dreams and salaries can start just north of $50 thousand.
  4. Automation Engineer - If your skill set includes excellent problem-solving and communication skills, this would be a very content position for you to occupy in a large manufacturing facility.
  5. Research Assistant - Despite having the lowest salary among the top jobs, and although many of these educational positions are only part-time or temporary, the happiness quotient is very high.

CareerBliss made their determination based on 25,000 reviews by their website users over a two year period. Participants rated their job happiness in seven categories, including: the person they worked for, company culture, rewards they received and more.
