New signs are being put into place at certain rides in both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in Anaheim that ban the popular "selfie stick."

Use of selfie-sticks on a ride is dangerous, and it is rude to those around you trying to enjoy it.

Universal Studios Orlando has gone a step further, installing metal detectors at three of the most thrilling rides to ensure there are no loose objects at all, including selfie sticks. Thunder Mountain has had an especially high number of incidents in which the ride had to be stopped because of selfie-stick use.

This sign was posted at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the Magic Kingdom.

Recently, the hashtag #BanSelfieSticks has grown in popularity.
