The Direct TV Genie is back, and this time she's riding on a talking and singing horse.

A couple of years ago TV viewers were intrigued by the Direct TV Genie. It seemed like every game you watched on TV you got to see the genie. If you've been watching the NBA Playoffs you've probably seen the Direct TV spokesperson Hannah Davis riding a talking and singing horse.

I've seen the ad a couple hundred times now and I have to say, she sits a pretty good horse. Seems like she's got a pretty good handle on him. I'm also intrigued by the beach she's riding the talking horse on.

MJZ filmed on location in the US Virgin Islands for a new campaign for the American satellite service provider DirecTV. The spots feature US model Hannah Davis on a tropical beach, while her New Zealand-accented talking horse ruminates on his success.

The production team considered filming locations in Puerto Rico and also St Croix in the US Virgin Islands, but in the end settled on the island of St Thomas.

Now, Hannah does a great job sitting on that horse, just looking like, well Hannah. But how about that horse and the voice behind that horse. According to Daily Commercials.com:

The voice over for the horse is Jemaine Clement, a New Zealand actor known from the musical comedy Flight of the Conchords.

After doing some snooping, I stumbled on a video that's pretty well put together, talking about the shooting of the commercial.
