Dierks Bentley has had a hugely successful career in country music for more than a decade, but unlike many of his contemporaries, we don't see his face splashed across the tabloids or on reality TV.

“I feel like I’ve got a nice little niche where I stay just below the radar, which is perfect,” he tells CMT at a recent concert in Chicago, adding that he has turned down more than one offer to do reality television. “I just don’t want to be known for anything other than music."

Bentley has scored 14 No. 1 singles since his debut in 2003, including "What Was I Thinkin'," "Every Mile a Memory," "I Hold On" and "Somewhere on a Beach," the lead single from his new album, Black. His 2016 Somewhere on a Beach Tour promises to be one of the biggest country shows on the road in the summer of 2016, but when Bentley is not working, he lives a relatively low-key life offstage with his wife and three children.

“I put a lot of time into making sure my relationship with my family is well taken care of, because I want to be as successful as a father as I am as an entertainer," he says. “I like where I am. I like being able to go to the grocery store. If someone wants a picture, I’m so honored and so flattered, and I hope I have a reputation as someone who goes out of his way to do those kinds of things.”
