Dierks Bentley teamed up with Elle King to release the music video for his latest single, "Different for Girls."

The black-and-white video was shot on a sound stage in Brooklyn and tells the story of a recently separated couple, both coping with the breakup in their own way. Bentley and King sat down with the Today Show to give a behind-the-scenes look at their creation.

"It's about the different ways the guys and the girls handle breakups in theory," Bentley shares. "She [King] handles things different than the way the girl does in this particular song, I probably handle things differently than a lot of guys do. I take it pretty hard."

The video goes perfectly with the song, depicting the male using alcohol and strangers to self-medicate the heartbreak, while his former counterpart sheds a few tears, relapses a few times and ultimately leans on her friends to get through the tough times. At the conclusion of the video, the female is shown smiling alongside friends, ignoring texts from her drunk ex, who seems to be miserable. How's that for girl power?

In the video, Bentley narrates the story using his voice and guitar while King is featured harmonizing and strumming along on her banjo.

"I faked it for about five years, and I only have been playing it for about six," King admits about her banjo abilities.

"Different for Girls" is the second single off of Bentley's most recent project, Black, and acts as the follow up to his smash hit, "Somewhere on a Beach." The 40-year-old country singer is spending the remainder of the summer on the road alongside Cam and Randy Houser as a part of his Somewhere on a Beach Tour.
