The Dear Abby of the radio will be making a stop close to the Sioux Empire later this month.

Delilah the queen of love songs and relationship advice will be visiting Sioux City to be the keynote speaker at the sold-out United Way of Siouxland’s Women's Power Lunch on April, 27, 2016. Proceeds from the event will help fund a scholarship program for qualifying single parents.

Delilah who has been in the radio relationship advice business since 1984, offers words of hope and inspiration, mixed in with a steady dose of sappy love songs each night.

The Delilah program airs on a number of different radio stations nationwide and reaches more than eight million people each week. The show receives an estimated 62,000 calls every night. Out of all those calls from people looking to share their stories of heartbreak and hope, 50 to 60 of them are chosen. With roughly only 25 lucky callers that actually make it on the air to speak with her.

Delilah, the mother of 13 children, 10 adopted, one deceased has also been divorced three times, so she is well versed in love and loss. She says she hears from all kinds of different people each night, from the bubbly to the heartbroken. Listeners looking for a best friend and confidant to a person calling just to share a message of hope with someone else who might be going through a rough patch in life.
