Driver Killed After Motorcycle Strikes Deer in Sioux Falls

The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 258th St. just west of Ditch Rd. Monday night for an injury motorcycle accident.

The motorcycle was traveling west bound on 258th St. when it struck a deer in the middle of the road.  The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries.  He was not wearing a helmet.

The man who died Monday Night has been identified as 61 year old James Edward Hunnel of Crooks, South Dakota.

Assisting in the incident were the Renner Fire Department, Rural Metro Ambulance, South Dakota Highway Patrol and Sanford’s Trauma 1 helicopter.
