The 50th anniversary of the Custer state park buffalo roundup is Friday September 25th 2015 and Craig Pugsley, visitor services coordinator describes the day starting at 6:00 AM, with gates opening to two viewing areas, on the north and sound side of the roundup location.  Coffee and breakfast will be available from vendors as you find your spot to watch the roundup starting at 9:30 AM

There's nothing like the experience of seeing the herd with 1,300 buffalo kicking up the dust as they get within feet of the barricades as they thunder past the viewing area.

There's more planned than just the buffalo roundup, including an arts and crafts show, a hike up Crazy Horse Memorial and a buffalo chip throwing contest.  You score the highest points if you get the chip in the toilet!
