Countdown to SiouxperCon 2016 – Nerd Idol and More Panels

SiouxperCon 2016 is Friday, Saturday and Sunday; April 15, 16 and 17 at the Best Western Ramkota in Sioux Falls. There’s so much going on starting with the video game tournament Friday night. Plus, there’s going to be vendors, booths, panels, movies, cosplay and so much more.

Here’s more highlights and details. This time all about Nerd Idol, more panels, and local animation.

Siouxpercon Nerd Idol

SiouxperCon is doing their own singing competition called Nerd Idol on
Saturday April 16th in Amphitheater II at the Best Western Ramkota.

To get in on this, you need to sign-up during the Con between 10:00 AM and 4:30 PM at the Ops or Cosplay tables. Then auditions will be at 5:00 PM and the main competition is at 6:00 PM.

As long as the songs are from something that could be defined as nerdy, they qualify. From the latest superhero TV show to the newest anime you are watching, we want to hear it! Siouxpercon is siouxper excited to announce that the head judge with be Jennifer Cihi, the songstress responsible for the singing voice of the original Sailor Moon!
We aren’t stopping there! After the Nerd Idol contestants belt it out, Jennifer will be performing a set of her Sailor Moon songs for the amazing attendees of SiouxperCon! Come out and be ready for an awesome time! -SiouxperCon on Facebook

One of the panels at SiouxperCon is all about Swamp Thing!

It's called Roots of the Swamp Thing. This panel will feature John Boylan, Guinness World Record holder of the largest Swamp Thing collection, and former Swamp Thing artist Phil Hester. The panel will be on Saturday at 5:00 PM.

Artist Alley at the Con will feature lots of local artists showing off their work.

Including something I'm particularly excited about (full disclosed: I did some work on it). Sioux Falls artist Chris Biewer is planning to debut his motion comic Cosmic Rage on Sunday.
