What a coincidence, two of my favorite things - golf and ice cream!

Golfing legend and 18 time major champion Jack Nicklaus has been busy lately devoting some of his spare time to - ice cream.  The Schwan's Food Company based out of Marshall, Minnesota is teaming up with Nicklaus to market a new premium ice cream.

It'll be sold by the pint and, at the beginning, available in grocery stores in select markets mainly in the Southeast.  The plan however is to eventually take it nationwide (they're hoping by early next year) and make it available on Schwan's Frozen Foods trucks you see driving through your neighborhood.

The ice cream will be offered in seven flavors - Warm Spiced Butter Pecan, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, Salted Caramel Toffee, Strawberry Lemonade, Triple Chocolate, Coffee and Donuts, and Homemade Vanilla.

Nicklaus says it's no secret that he loves ice cream and he loves this project.  He says he's never had so much fun in research and development.

During the initial launch, Schwan's will donate a portion of the sales to the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation. Once the initial ice cream launch is over, a percentage of the proceeds will then be given to not only Nicklaus' foundation but other children's health care charities as well.
