The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls set a record Sunday night! That according to Chad Campbell, Executive Director of the facility.

“We had 108 men and 23 women stay at here for a total of 131 guests. So for the first time since we’ve been open a little over a year we got very creative on how we accommodate the guests. We did not turn anybody away. We wanted to make sure everyone had a safe place and that they were secure from the elements outside.”

Campbell says the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House welcomed 50 new guests since January 1st, 2016.

“That’s very interesting because it shows we still have a huge need in our community. Individuals do know about the services that we have at the House. But, I think there are people who fall and rise in and out of poverty. There are people that we have talked with who struggle by sleeping in their cars. Perhaps, they have been recently evicted from their apartments. Maybe they had an argument with their significant other and had to move out. There are a lot of reasons people are seeking our services. We want to be with them as they get back on their feet.”
