Cliff Avenue Rape Suspect Sought in Sioux Falls
Police are looking for a suspect in the reported rape of a Sioux Falls woman on Sunday night.
Information Officer Sam Clemens says the 19-year-old woman told police she was attacked as she walked along North Cliff Avenue near the railroad bridge south of Rice Street between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.:
“As she was walking she said there was a white man came at her, said something to the effect that she needed to follow him or he was going to shoot her and she walked with him behind some bushes,” explained Clemens . “Once there he ended up punching her and assaulting her and she blacked out. When she came to she believed she had been sexually assaulted.”
Clemens says the woman told officers the assailant was a white male, possibly in his late 20s to early 30s, six feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black sweat shirt and gray sweat pants.
