Church Pew Finds New Home

Mothers Day 2015. I'll remember it for the rest of my life as the day an old (not real old) church pew found a new home. Here's how it came to be.

We were walking out of Mass at Holy Spirit on Mothers Day. The announcements had just been made.

With the remodeling of the worship area we have decided to sell the church pews. As it turns out, it's cheaper to purchase new instead of trying to refurbish and make the old pews fit.

Now, I had recently bought my wife some items I thought would pass as Mothers Day gifts. She quickly reminded me that I don't get a hall pass for not having an actual gift for Mothers Day. I said, 'So, you want one of these?'  She said, yep.

I agreed.

The church pew is 4 feet 6 inches. It's one that our family sat on, or very near many Sunday mornings or Saturday afternoons for the past 15 plus years so it has sentimental value.  Once we get it situated in the house, I'll take a pic and share it with you.
