Child Falls from Third Story Window of Sioux Falls Apartment

The Sioux Falls Police Department says a child who climbed up on a toy box and leaned on a window fell from the third story level of an apartment building on Saturday (May 6).

According to Sergeant Adam Petersen, authorities responded to an apartment in the area of Valhalla and 49th Street at 9:21 PM for a child who fell from a third story window.

"A citizen witnessed the child fall and called 911. The child suffered some broken bones and other non-life threatening injuries," said Peterson. "He was transported to the hospital for treatment and observation."

When the boy got up on his toy box and pushed on the screen, it gave way and the child fell.
